Carol Daws, BSc (Psych) (First Class Hon)
Carol Daws BSc (Hons), MPsych (Clinical), is a Member of the Golden Key Honour Society for Academic Achievement, CEO Cyrenian House Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Treatment Centre; Past President and past Treasurer of Australasian Therapeutic Communities Association (ATCA); Treasurer, Western Australian Network Alcohol and Other Drugs (WANADA); Past Committee Member Law & Criminal Justice Reference Group, Alcohol & Other Drugs Council of Australia (ADCA).
Carol has been working in Non-Government AOD sector since 1988 and at Cyrenian House in various roles from clinical work through to management roles and is currently the CEO of Cyrenian House. Cyrenian House operates a Therapeutic Community (TC) in a semi rural setting in the outer northern suburbs of the Perth Metropolitan area. Within the TC, Cyrenian House also provides the Saranna Women’s Program to support women with dependent children. Cyrenian House also offers a comprehensive non-residential service that includes outpatient counselling services, prison programs and aftercare for people with drug and alcohol use and associated problems. Support and counselling is also available for family members and significant other.
Carol has been a member of WANADA for the past ten years and is currently the Treasurer. She has a keen interest in the Non-Government Sector and in particular, the Therapeutic Community Movement.
