James Pitts, M.A.
Chief Executive Officer, Odyssey House McGrath Foundation
James has worked in the AOD field for the past 28 years and is the CEO of Odyssey House McGrath Foundation, which provides services for young men, women, and their dependent children.
James has been selected to a number of prominent boards and is the author of many papers on residential treatment in the AOD field. He has presented at both national and international conferences.
James was awarded the Ted Noffs Foundation Award for Individual Achievement in the AOD field in 2000; the Australia Day Medal in 2001 by the Alcohol and Other Drugs Council of Australia in recognition of his contribution and commitment to the field; the inaugural fellowship by the Harvard Club of Australia, Not For Profit Fellowship Program in 2001; and in 2007 was inducted to the Honour Role of the National Drug and Alcohol Awards.
James was also selected to participate in the 2020 Summit held in Canberra in April 2008; is a member of the Expert Committee - Development National Co-morbidity Guidelines - 2008, and a member of the Expert Committee - Development of Clinical Guidelines for Treatment of Cannabis Dependence - 2009. James was runner-up in the CEO of the Year Awards (2009).
James has previously served as a Board Member of the ATCA Board, and was elected as a Director in 2009.
